MRIC Spatial offers career opportunities as Project Surveyors, Survey Crew Chiefs, and Field/Office Survey Technicians. Within each role, the positions require approximately 40-45 hours per week with a Monday-Friday schedule where some overnight travel may be required. Job Summary

The Project Surveyor is responsible for creation of project descriptions and data files to set up specifications for survey crew collection requirements of survey data for ALTA, boundary, topographic, and tree surveys.

This includes providing instructions regarding acquisition of remote sensing data using unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile LiDAR systems and/or terrestrial LiDAR systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises and trains Survey Crew Chiefs from time to time.
  • Responsible for job planning and direction of data collection activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Acquires reference material including historical project site surveys, plats, titles, and etc.
  • Understand and communicate survey requirements to set survey crew data collection specifications and expectations.
  • Identifying site features relevant to survey type (e.g., utilities, storm and drainage structures, topographic features).
  • Access and interpret field data.
  • Review field notes.
  • Prep survey documents for drafter work, communicate requirements to drafters, inspect and coordinate necessary modifications to drafter deliverables, approve and deliver final products to customers.

Requirements:

  • Driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15lbs for short periods of time.
  • Required: Florida Land Surveyor License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Desired: Georgia, New Mexico, and/or Texas Surveyor License/Registration.

Job Summary

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work towards achieving 4 years of experience as a subordinate to a Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper while being in responsible charge of the accuracy and correctness of the surveying and mapping work performed (these are requirements to become a Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper)
  • Acquires reference material including historical project site surveys, plats, titles, and etc.
  • Understand and communicate survey requirements to set survey crew data collection specifications and expectations.
  • Identifying site features relevant to survey type (e.g., utilities, storm and drainage structures, topographic features).
  • Access and interpret field data.
  • Review field notes.
  • Prep survey documents for drafter work, communicate requirements to drafters, inspect and coordinate necessary modifications to drafter deliverables, submit reviewed products to licensed surveyors for review, approval, & signature.

Requirements:

  • Completed (or within final semester to complete) Florida Surveyor License education requirements as detailed on https://www.fsms.org/how-to-become-a-surveyor (4 year degree in Geomatics or Surveying & Mapping).
  • Applied for “Surveyor In Training” via Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Board of Professional Surveyors and Mappers website at https://csapp.fdacs.gov/CSRep
  • Passed Fundamentals of Surveying (Part 1) Examination
  • Driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15lbs for short periods of time.

Job Summary

The Survey Crew Chief is responsible for collection of survey data for ALTA, boundary, topographic and tree surveys.

Some Survey Crew Chief employees under this job description may be responsible for acquisition of remote sensing data using unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile LiDAR systems and/or terrestrial LiDAR systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises and trains up to 3 Survey Technicians from time to time.
  • Responsible for safety, job planning, and execution of data collection activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Finding and accurately Surveying monuments and markers.
  • Identifying site features relevant to survey type (e.g., utilities, storm and drainage structures, topographic features).
  • Properly enter field data with feature and linework codes.
  • Keep field notes.

Requirements:

  • Driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather for extended periods.
  • Occasional overnight travel and overtime.

Job Summary

The Field Survey Technician is responsible for collection of survey data for ALTA, boundary, topographic, and tree surveys. This is an entry level position intended for development and transition to Survey Crew Chief.

Some Survey Technician employees under this job description may be responsible for acquisition of remote sensing data using unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile LiDAR systems and/or terrestrial LiDAR systems.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Take direction from Survey Crew Chief.
  • Find and accurately survey monuments and markers.
  • Identifying site features relevant to survey type (e.g., utilities, storm and drainage structures, topographic features)
  • Properly enter field data with feature and linework codes.

Job Summary

The Office Survey Technician is responsible for production of land survey deliverables for ALTA, boundary, topographic, and tree surveys.

Some Office Technician employees under this job description may be responsible for processing of remote sensing data collected using manned or unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile LiDAR systems, and/or terrestrial LiDAR systems.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Processing field data
  • Digitizing field data.
  • Properly interpreting field notes, feature codes and other data collected in the field.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and/or Microstation to prepare survey deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
  • Occasional field data collection may be required.

Job Summary

Education and Experience
